Moore tornado rebuilds and hail roof repair

Moore has been hit by tornadoes in 1999, 2003 and 2013, and the Encyclopedia of Oklahoma History counts more than 3,000 homes in the city damaged by the 1999 storm alone. Rebuilding after wind and hail is ordinary work here, and we treat each house as its own job.

Quick answer

Tornado rebuilds and hail roof repair in Moore start with our 24/7 line and a crew from our north Oklahoma City office. Moore took a 1.3-mile-wide EF5 tornado on May 20, 2013, and on September 24, 2024 trained spotters measured hail around 2.25 inches about 3.1 miles northeast of the city.

About Moore

A city that grew fast and has rebuilt more than once

The Census Bureau estimated Moore at 63,609 residents in mid-2025, up from 62,793 in 2020, with about 67.9% of occupied homes owner occupied. The Encyclopedia of Oklahoma History notes that the city grew from 1,783 residents in 1960 to 18,761 in 1970, a wave of house building in a single decade that has kept Moore among the state's fastest-growing cities.

That growth came with storms. The F5 of May 3, 1999 damaged more than 3,000 homes in Moore, another tornado hit on May 9, 2003, and the 1.3-mile-wide EF5 of May 20, 2013 followed. A rebuild here often means framing, roof deck, windows, insulation, drywall and floors, done in sequence and inspected as each stage closes in.

Hail is the other repeating problem. The Oklahoma Climatological Survey logged 4.00-inch hail one mile east-northeast of Moore on May 10, 2010, and spotters measured stones around 2.25 inches northeast of the city in September 2024. Hail that size breaks shingles outright, not just bruises them.

What we see here

What Moore homes need after storms

Rebuilding after a tornado hit

When walls are down or the roof is gone, the work starts with shoring, debris removal and a structural check. Then we rebuild in order: framing, roof deck, dry-in, windows, mechanical rough-ins by the right trades, insulation, drywall and finishes, with inspections where the city requires them.

Tornado Damage Repair

Shingles broken by large hail

Stones over two inches crack shingles through, split vent caps and dent flashing. A roof hit that hard usually needs replacement rather than spot repair. We photograph damage slope by slope and replace the roof with impact-rated shingles if you choose them.

Hail Damage Roof Repair

Siding and trim torn by hail and wind

Hail cracks vinyl and chips fiber cement, and wind lifts loose courses off the wall. We replace damaged siding, check the house wrap behind it for tears and water, and repaint or replace trim so the exterior matches. Hail-chipped paint on trim is easy to miss and lets water into the wood.
